whatshouldwecallme:

i definitely know one of these…
"I firmly believe in small gestures: pay for their coffee, hold the door for strangers, over tip, smile or try to be kind even when you don’t feel like it, pay compliments, chase the kid’s runaway ball down the sidewalk and throw it back to him, try to be larger than you are— particularly when it’s difficult. People do notice, people appreciate. I appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me. Small gestures can be an effort, or actually go against our grain (“I’m not a big one for paying compliments…”), but the irony is that almost every time you make them, you feel better about yourself. For a moment life suddenly feels lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain."

first workout in a month, since returning from all my travels.. man was this a doozy. instructors called it a trail of tears haha. it wasn’t that bad, but definitely started to question my decision to go in after the round of 7.. after 5 though everything went fast. surprised i could do the 155# in sets of 4 or 5. didn’t want to put the bar down because i knew that the first rep is always the hardest. squat cleans were good, but if i tried to string more than 2 or 3 it would tire me out too quickly. bench.. hahaha i actually did 1 rep at 95 successfully and then i was like, i’m not going to make it. switched to 65 and just pumped them out. deadlifts were hardest > squat cleans > bench
